We Believe, Concerning God We believe that there is one true and living God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one, same in power, wisdom and knowledge. God is eternal, all-wise, all-powerful, and everywhere present and no where absent. The scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the revealed and inspired word of God. (I John 5:7; II Cor. 13:14; Psa.90:2; Rom.11:33; Psa.139:7-10; II Pet. 1:21; II Tim. 3:16-17) We Believe, Concerning Man We believe in the eternal love of God to His people, and that before the foundation of the world there was a Covenant of Redemption with the Father and the Son. God chose according to His own purpose and grace an innumerable people in Christ out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation, before the world began, and predestinated them unto adoption of children by Jesus Christ. When Adam transgressed God’s law, he and the entire human race died as they fell under the law of sin and death. Man became dead in trespasses and sins, and incapable of delivering himself from this fallen condition by his own will or ability. (II Tim. 1:9; Heb. 13:20; Rom. 8:28-30; Rom. 9:11-13; Eph. 1:4-6; Rev. 5:9; Gen. 2:17; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:1; Rom. 3:9-18) We Believe, Concerning Salvation We believe Jesus Christ came into the world to make salvation a reality, not just a possibility. He suffered and died as the substitute of His elect. The price of eternal redemption was the blood of Christ, and he redeemed those that were his by eternal covenant. All for whom Christ died will live in heaven because the debt was paid, and the righteousness of Christ was imputed unto his family. Their sins were imputed to Christ and His righteousness imputed to them. When Jesus said (while upon the cross), “It is finished” the will of his father was satisfied. Our great conquering king, elder brother, friend, and Lord had accomplished everything necessary that we will: obtain the inheritance, receive eternal life, be resurrected, and be glorified. "By grace ye are saved." All the elect are preserved in grace by the power of God, and not one of them will be finally lost. (Mat. 1:21; John 6:38, 44; Rom. 5:17; I John 4:10; Rom. 8:1-4; 28-39; Eph. 1: 4-12; Eph. 2:1-7; John 10:27-29, Rom. 8:30, Jude 1, John 6:38-39) We Believe, Concerning the Gospel We believe that the Holy Spirit effectually calls all the elect of God. This calling (being the same as regeneration, new birth and vital sanctification) is done by God alone without human means or gospel instrumentality. The gospel has no part in bringing eternal life or righteousness in the sight of God, but rather is designed to give knowledge and light to those that already have eternal life. We believe the gospel is the good news of God’s salvation by the finished work of Jesus Christ. It is intended solely for God’s elect born again children, for their good, joy and happiness. It brings life and immortality to light, and, by it, we are fed spiritually. Belief and obedience to the gospel by the performing of “good works” provides a great reward in this life and a salvation, or deliverance (temporal salvation), from spiritual ignorance, a life displeasing to God, the pitfalls of this world, our flesh, and the devil. We also avoid the chastening rod of God’s wrath here in this life by living in obedience to His word. The gospel has no role in the eternal salvation of God’s children and many of God’s elect will never be converted to the truth of the gospel unto discipleship. The elect are never commanded to be born again, but in hundreds of places they are called on to obey. They are passive in regeneration, but active in obedience. (II Tim. 1:9-10; Jude 1; John 5:25; John 6:37; Col. 2:11; Luke 1:77; John 3:8; II Tim. 1:10; Acts 20:28; Eph. 2:10; Titus 3:8; Mat. 5:16; II Tim. 3:16; Mat. 11:28-29; Acts 2:40; Heb. 10:26-31; Heb. 12:11; Rom. 10:1; Rom. 11:28; II Tim. 2:13) We Believe, Concerning the Resurrection We believe in the general resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust, and a general judgment. The happiness of the righteous and the suffering of the wicked will be everlasting.
